Christ Like Actions in Youth

Our youth group is known as "C.L.A.Y." It reminds us to constantly strive to become more like Jesus.

We have several activities for youth.

Praise Team: This musical group plays contemporary worship music and leads the singing at Huffman's Alternative Worship Service each Sunday evening. Instrumentalist and vocalists are always invited to join the Praise Team. Rehearsals are Sunday afternoons at 3:30 p.m.

CLAY Drama Team: The Drama Team performs a skit at Huffman's Alternative Worship Service twice a month. The pastor uses their skit as a focal point later in the worship service. In addition to live skits, the group has also put together short video presentations.

Church Family Dinner: Wednesday evenings at the church are full of activity during the months September through May. The various choirs rehearse throughout the evening, the youth have their weekly meeting, and there are special activities for children. The focal gathering point is the fellowship meal. The menu varies from week to week, but cost is always a mere $3.00. Many of our youth eat at the Wednesday Night Dinner before going upstairs to the youth room for the weekly CLAY gathering. We eat in the Commons Area of the Enrichment Center.

C.L.A.Y. Wednesday Evening meetings: Each week we gather in the Youth Room (E-202) on the second floor of the Enrichment Center. This large room is for the exclusive use of the youth. Our Wednesday night meetings include lessons dealing with faith and the unique issues facing youth in today's culture. We also plan outings and other activities. Of course, there is also time for fellowship, visiting, and time to be with the Lord.

Sunday School Classes: Naturally we also provide Sunday School classes for our youth. Our Sunday School hour, which begins at 9:40 a.m., takes place in between our church's two morning worship services (8:30 & 10:45 a.m.); Junior High Sunday School Class; Senior High Sunday School Class

Other activities for the youth include mission trips, outings to Kansas City, confirmation (membership) class, and jazz band, to name a few.
